By sharonorn, 2025-04-20
Fantasy football owners face tough start 'em, sit 'em questions right away in Week 5 with a potential battle of backup RBs in the Colts-Broncos Thursday night showdown, and things don't get much easier heading into the weekend. Fortunately, Sporting News NFL writer Vinnie Iyer is here to help with his Week 5 fantasy lineup advice and DFS tips.Usage/production trends and a new set of favorable/unfavorable matchups affect lineup decisions every week, but the biggest i sue will always be injuries. There are plenty of big ones set to affect Week 5 lineups, starting with Javonte Williams' season-ending ACL tear and Jonathan Taylor's worrisome ankle i sue. Beyond those, Keenan Allen (hamstring), Alvin Kamara (ribs), D'Andre Swift (shoulder), David Montgomery (knee, Jesus Aguilar Jersey ankle), Michael Thomas (toe), Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle), Jakobi Meyers (knee), Hunter Renfrow (concu sion), Daniel Jones (ankle), and Jameis Winston (back) are all dealing with ailments that could keep them out, and you know more injuries will pop up later in the week. That's on top of players like Cordarrelle Patterson (knee), Treylon Burks (toe), Jahan Dotson (hamstring), and Tua Tagovailoa (head) who have already been ruled out.Throw in the potential returns of players who started the season on IR (Brian Robinson Jr., Gus Edwards) and yet another early-morning London game (Packers-Giants), and fantasy owners will need to be "on call" all weekend.Navigating through a wide array of potential starting options, here are our must-starts and start 'em sit 'em recommendations for Week 5. If you have specific lineup questions, check out RotoBaller's industry-leading "Who To Start?" tool below and compare up to four players acro s all positions.MORE: and receive exclusive acce s to their premium lineup tools, DFS cheat sheets, and Team Sync platform! .WEEK 5 FANTASY PICKS: | QB must-startsJosh Allen, Bills (vs. PIT)Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (vs. LV)Jalen Hurts, Eagles (at ARI)Lamar Jackson, Ravens (vs. CIN)Joe Burrow, Bengals (at BAL)Justin Herbert, Chargers (at CLE)Kyler Murray, Cardinals (vs. PHI)Stronger starts Tom Brady, Buccaneers (vs. ATL). He has his groove back (at least on the field), and he'll shred a weak overall defense at home.Derek Carr, Raiders (at KC). He is bound to put up plenty of garbage pa sing points opposite Patrick Mahomes.Kirk Cousins, Vikings (vs. CHI). He will be solid given it's back to being an afternoon home game vs. an average defense.Aaron Rodgers, Packers (vs. NYG in London). He won't need to do a ton, but the Giants' secondary stinks, so 250 yards and two TDs are easy pickings.Carson Wentz, Commanders (vs. TEN). He likes to rip into weaker defenses, and this is a sneaky shootout.Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (vs. HOU). Lawrence will rock it again in a comfortable spot against a defense that cannot stop the run or pa s.Ryan Tannehill, Titans (at WAS). Plenty is being given up by this atrocious Commanders pa s defense.DFS TargetsFanDuel cash game pickTom Brady, Buccaneers ($7,800 vs. ATL). The GOAT unleashed fury late against the Chiefs, and he will take out some i sues on the Falcons' wilting defense with at least 300 yards and three TD.DraftKings tournament pickAndy Dalton (if he starts, $5,200 vs. SEA). Dalton would be the cheapest veteran QB on the board not named Davis Mills or Baker Mayfield if he starts again for Jameis Winston. He won't go full Jared Goff at home on the Seahawks' defense, but he can get a 3X or 4X value.Streamer SpecialTeddy Bridgewater, Dolphins (at NYJ). This is a sweet "revenge" game spot where he can ride his wide receivers to Tua-like production in a great matchup.WEEK 5 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | | Weaker startsMatthew Stafford, Rams (vs. DAL). He's borderline droppable when he's not producing TDs and racking up turnovers.Jared Goff, Lions (at NE). Bill Belichick will find a way to fluster him, too.Geno Smith, Seahawks (at NO). Smith struggled against the one tricky defense on the road he faced, so don't expect follow-up big numbers here, either.Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers (at CAR). It will be hard for Jimmy G to post big numbers when it will be so easy for the 49ers to run.Zach Wilson, Jets (vs. MIA). He has some youthful upside, but don't force it.Kenny Pickett, Steelers (at BUF). He also has some youthful upside, but don't force it.Justin Fields, Bears (at MIN). He still has some youthful upside, but don't force it.WEEK 5 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | | | RB must-startsNick Chubb, Browns (vs. LAC)Saquon Barkley, Giants (at GB in London)Austin Ekeler, Chargers (at CLE)Derrick Henry, Titans (at WAS)Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (vs. SF)Aaron Jones, Packers (vs. NYG in London)Joe Mixon, Bengals (at BAL)James Robinson, Jaguars (vs. HOU)Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Chiefs (vs. LV)Jamaal Williams, Lions (at NE)Dameon Pierce, Texans (at JAX)Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers (vs. ATL)Jeff Wilson Jr., 49ers (at CAR)Josh Jacobs, Raiders (at KC)Dalvin Cook, Vikings (vs. CHI)Najee Harris, Steelers (at BUF)AJ Dillon, Packers (vs. NYG in London)Miles Sanders, Eagles (at ARI)Khalil Herbert, Bears (at MIN)James Conner, Cardinals (vs. PHI)Stronger starts JK Dobbins, Ravens (vs. CIN). He's getting the key volume now as the clear lead back, and the Ravens should lean Jonathan Villar Jersey run heavier here.Alvin Kamara or Mark Ingram, Saints (vs. SEA). Whoever runs the ball against the Seahawks needs to be in lineups.Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots (vs. DET). They won't be hiding the fact they will ride the running game hard again in this cake matchup.Breece Hall, Jets (vs. MIA). He's trending toward feature volume with the Jets trending toward fully embracing the rookie's talent.Kareem Hunt, Browns (vs. LAC). The Browns should be run-heavy to attack the clear Chargers' weakne s.Raheem Mostert, Dolphins (at NYJ). They should stay more grounded, and his effective volume should add up to a TD this week.Travis Etienne, Jaguars (vs. HOU). He should get plenty of receiving and rushing work in support of James Robinson.DFS targetsFanDuel cash game picksAustin Ekeler, Chargers ($9,000 at CLE). Check on the status of Myles Garrett (shoulder), but if the Browns' defensive line is depleted again Ekeler can stay white hot.Damien Harris, Patriots ($7,200 vs. DET). Harris was an absolute hammer against the Packers and can bring it even more against the Lions (see Rashaad Penny).DraftKings tournament picksRhamondre Stevenson, Patriots ($5,500 vs. DET). Stevenson has similar upside to Damien Harris but comes cheaper as a mild contrarian play.Breece Hall, Jets ($5,400 vs. MIA).The matchup numbers say stay away, but Hall's talent, volume, and pa sing-game usage say he can be an absolute steal.WEEK 5 DFS LINEUPS: | Weaker startsEzekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, Cowboys (at LAR). This is a tough spot for their run blocking.Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr., (vs. DAL). There's nothing to trust on the other side of that matchup either.Rashaad Penny, Seahawks (at NO). The Saints' defense is still stout vs. the run, and he's rushing dependent.Devin Singletary, Bills (vs. PIT). There's nothing wrong with the matchup, but the usage is spotty given he's really only had one decent game. All Commanders (vs. TEN). You have no idea how the snaps will go down, starting with Antonio Gibson. All Falcons (at TB). The matchup is brutal, and the split for Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley caps usable value.Rachaad White, Buccaneers (vs. ATL). He's a plus handcuff with late-season upside, but he's not a fantasy starter yet.WEEK 5 DFS: | WR must-startsCooper Kupp, Rams (vs. DAL)Justin Jefferson, Vikings (vs. CHI)Stefon Diggs, Bills (vs. PIT)Ja'Marr Chase, Bengals (at BAL)Davante Adams, Raiders (vs. KC)A.J. Brown, Eagles (at ARI)Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (at NYJ)Deebo Samuel, 49ers (at CAR)CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys (at LAR)Mike Evans, Buccaneers (vs. ATL)Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins (at NYJ)Tee Higgins, Bengals (at BAL)Courtland Sutton, Broncos (vs. Jim Gantner Jersey IND)Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions (if he returns, at NE)Christian Kirk, Jaguars (vs. HOU)Chris Olave, Saints (vs. SEA)Marquise Brown, Cardinals (vs. PHI)Michael Pittman Jr., Colts (at DEN)DK Metcalf, Seahawks (at NO)Mike Williams, Chargers (at CLE)Keenan Allen, Chargers (if he returns, at CLE)Michael Thomas, Saints (if he returns, vs. SEA)Stronger startsGabe Davis, Bills (vs. PIT). He has been a decoy in recent weeks but now he's practicing in full while Jamison Crowder is down and Isaiah McKenzie doesn't look good to play. Look for him to get back to making big plays opposite Diggs.Chris Godwin, Buccaneers (vs. ATL). You can destroy the Falcons in the slot away from their strengths outside.Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel, Commanders (vs. TEN). No Jahan Dotson (hamstring) makes it golden to go with them against this secondary.Allen Lazard and Romeo Doubs, Packers (vs. NYG in London). They're locked in as the reliable 1-2 punch for Rodgers and these corners are bad.Brandin Cooks, Texans (at JAX). He got warmed up last week and should put up decent garbage points.DeVonta Smith, Eagles (at ARI). He gets going again away from the rain.Tyler Boyd, Bengals (at BAL). He has a good history here, and the Ravens are weakened in the slot.Adam Thielen, Vikings (vs. CHI). He's rejuvenated and making it work opposite Justin Jefferson again.DFS targetsFanDuel cash game picksTyreek Hill, Dolphins ($8,400 at NYJ). The Bridgewater-Hill connection is real, and the Jets will be overwhelmed in coverage.Christian Kirk, Jaguars ($7,500 vs. HOU). Kirk will go back to eating in the slot against a me s of a Texans cornerback corps.Robert Woods, Titans ($5,900 at WAS). No Treylon Burks (toe) says Woods will get to take advantage of this juicy spot.DraftKings tournament picksMike Evans, Buccaneers ($6,900 vs. ATL). Evans is getting lit with end-zone targets, and he can score another double given his recent history in the Falcons' matchup.Terry McLaurin, Commanders ($6,200 vs. TEN). McLaurin is due for a blowup, and it can come in a spot against a weak secondary with no competition from Jahan Dotson (hamstring).George Pickens, Steelers ($4,300 at BUF). The starting of Kenny Pickett is great for him, as he will be peppered with targets in a negative game script.Weaker startsDiontae Johnson, Steelers (at BUF). He'll get the toughest matchup, and Kenny Pickett will further drop his value relative to George Pickens.Drake London, Falcons (at TB). Carlton Davis can give him trouble with size and strong safety help.Amari Cooper, Browns (vs. LAC). This matchup is also pretty tough either inside or outside for him so expect to stay cold after disappearing vs. A.J. Terrell.Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (at NO). He's probably getting the tougher matchup vs. Marshon Lattimore.D.J. Moore, Panthers (vs. SF). The Niners are a bad matchup, and this pa sing game can't be trusted.Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers (at CAR). The volume isn't there, and the matchup isn't good.Darnell Mooney, Bears (at MIN). He's tempting after his breakout in Week 4, but waiting to see if he continues to mesh with Justin Fields is smarter.Michael Gallup, Cowboys (at LAR). The matchup isn't bad on the backend, but this will be a low-scoring, defensive-minded affair where his impact can be limited. All Jets (vs. MIA). ZachWilson's return has made it tougher to pick between Corey Davis, Garrett Wilson, and Elijah Moore. All Chiefs (vs. LAR). The production has been random beyond Travis Kelce, and everybody is boom-or-bust/high-risk, high-reward.TE must-startsTravis Kelce, Chiefs (vs. LV)Mark Andrews, Ravens (vs. CIN)Darren Waller, Raiders (at KC)T.J. Hockenson, Lions (at NE)Dallas Goedert, Eagles (at ARI)Zach Ertz, Cardinals (vs. PHI)George Kittle, 49ers (at CAR)Stronger startsTyler Higbee, Rams (vs. DAL). He's clearly the guy Matthew Stafford trusts most after Cooper Kupp.Tyler Conklin, Jets (vs. MIA). He's involved with the wideouts, and the matchup is good for a Matt Garza Jersey shot at a po sible score.Hayden Hurst, Bengals (at BAL). He's getting good usage relative to the wideouts and has a shot to score after C.J. Uzomah killed it here last season.Hunter Henry, Patriots (vs. DET). With Jonnu Smith hurting and limitations at wideout, don't be surprised if New England would get him going in a favorable spot.Logan Thomas, Commanders (vs. TEN). With Jahan Dotson (hamstring) down, Thomas should have some key targets.Taysom Hill, Saints (vs. SEA). This is a deep shot, but the Saints will get him high-leverage rushing snaps again this week.DFS targetsFanDuel cash game and DraftKings tournament pickDallas Goedert, Eagles ($6,100 and $4,700 at ARI). With no Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews on the main slate, Goedert is the best bet to be the T.J. Hockenson of this week with a surefire plus matchup.Weaker startsPat Freiermuth, Steelers (at BUF). This matchup is brutal, as Mark Andrews learned last week.Gerald Everett, Chargers (at CLE). The Browns have been tough on tight ends.David Njoku, Browns (at LAC). The Chargers have been tough on tight ends.Robert Tonyan, Packers (vs. NYG in London). The Giants have done a good job in intermediate coverage.Irv Smith Jr., Vikings (vs. CHI). You cannot trust him with the usage.Dalton Schultz, Cowboys (at LAR). The matchup is bad, and Cooper Rush doesn't have much going with Schultz.Evan Engram, Jaguars (vs. HOU). They won't need him much with the wideouts and backs going off.Defense must-startsBills (vs. PIT)49ers (at CAR)Packers (vs. NYG)Cowboys (at LAR)Buccaneers (vs. ATL)Jaguars (vs. HOU)Vikings (vs. CHI)Rams (vs. DAL)Broncos (vs. IND)Stronger startsSaints (vs. SEA). They tend to play better in their true home in the Superdome, and there can be some sacks and a turnover or two gotten here.Dolphins (at NYJ). They will do their best to blitz Zach Wilson into mistakes.Patriots (vs. DET). You can bet Bill Belichick will force Jared Goff into mistakes.Chiefs (vs. LV). The Chiefs did get a pick-six vs. the Chargers in their last home game, so a prime-time bump is in order here.Titans (at WAS). The Titans are not a bad flier after playing well against the Colts, and they can cause some i sues for Carson Wentz.DFS targetsFanDuel cash game pickPatriots ($3,600 vs. DET). The Pats were more of a boom-or-bust value pick in Green Bay until their pick-six paid them off. It can happen again vs. Jared Goff.DraftKings tournament pickCowboys ($2,500 at LAR). They're guaranteed to get some sacks and a pick or two off Matthew Stafford -- and they're woefully underpriced.Weaker startsEagles (at ARI). They're not as good on the road, and there should be some points put up by the Cardinals.Ravens (vs. CIN). The blitzing only helps Joe Burrow.Chargers (at CLE). Not in their shorthanded state.Browns (vs. LAC). Not in their shorthanded state either.Panthers (vs. SF). They can make plays but not when their offense isn't helping.Seahawks (at NO). The numbers for the Manny Pina Jersey Saints say "yes," but the poor defense says "no."Lions (at NE). The numbers for the Patriots say "yes," but the poor defense says "no."
Aston Villa 1-1 Everton att: 31,853This game followed the script of the reverse fixture earlier this season at Goodison Park with both sides cancelling each other out in what proved to be a frustrating afternoon for both sides. Aston Villa went into this game on the back of four straight home league defeats with Everton win le s in their last two league fixtures.Alec Mcleish decided to bring Shay Given back into the team after a seven game absence at the expense of the unfortunate Brad Guzan. New loan signing Robbie Keane could only find a place on the bench Jed Lowrie Jersey with Villa preferring to stick with Darren Bent as the lone striker with Gabriel Agbonlahor and Steven Ireland in support. For the visitors, new signing Darron Gibson went straight into the starting line up.The game started slowly with neither side exactly bringing the crowd to their feet. Villa Park was silent for most of the afternoon, in particular during the first half in which the home side struggled to find their pa sing range. At times the approach play from Villa was very sluggish and lacked any real flow. The home supporters grew agitated at the lack of creativity on show. It was the away side which had the first clear opportunity of the game. A curling free kick from the left by Leighton Baines was met by the head of Louis Saha who was superbly denied by Shay Given at his near post. The toffees began to find succe s down the flanks with a menacing cro s from Landon Donovan only just evading Saha.Down Keith Hernandez Jersey at the other end a clever piece of play between Bent and Agbonlahor released Albrighton at the back post but Drenthe managed to get back in time and clear the ball to safety. From the resulting corner, James Collins put a free header well wide. The best chance of the half for the home team fell to Agbonlahor in the 42nd minute as he cut inside from the left crashing a low drive towards the far corner. Howard expertly managed to tip the effort around the post.Half Time: Aston Villa 0-0 Everton. The start of the second half saw neither side make any changes with the home Pete Alonso Jersey supporters looking for something to cheer about. In the opening exchanges of the half Shay Given was once again called into action saving a bullet header from Fellani with his chest. This seemed to spring Villa into life with Bent hooking a shot towards goal that sent the crowd roaring. Moments later in the 56th minute the home fans patience was rewarded with the opening goal of the game. A cro s from the right-wing from Albrighton caused chaos in the Everton penalty area with the ball eventually falling to Bent inside the six-yard penalty area who coolly slotted the ball past Howard into the roof of the net. Moments later Bent almost had a second but his header was well kept out by Howard.Anichebe and Saha celebrate Evertons equaliserEvertons response on the hour mark was to bring on Victor Anichebe for Royston Drenthe. Within ten minutes the move by David Moyes Devin Mesoraco Jersey had paid off. A clever ball from Donovan split the Villa defence with Anichebe able to stay on side and calmly slot the ball past Shay Given for his third goal of the season. The goal came at a time when Villa had seem to be getting on top in the game.In the closing ten minutes Vila fans got to saw the man they had been waiting for with on loan signing Robbie Keane brought on to replace Warnock. It was an interesting substitution from the home side and a signal of their intent of winning the game. Another debutant, the tiring Darron Gibson was replaced by Everton with Diniyar Bilyaletdinov coming on in his place. The closing moments saw only half chances for either side. As the board went up for four minutes of added on time Steven Ireland was named around the ground as the official man of the match. Referee Mark Clattenburg brought an end to the game with what over all proved to be a fair result. With the point Villa moved up a place to 12th with Everton breaking into the top half of the table in 10th.Man of the Match: Steven IrelandVilla: Given, Hutton, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Clark, Petrov, Albrighton, Ireland, Agbonlahor, Bent. Subs: NZogbia, Keane, Guzan, Delph, Cuellar, Gardner, Bannan.Everton: Howard, Baines, Heitinga, Neville, Duffy, Gibson, Drenthe Tom Seaver Jersey , Cahill, Fellaini, Saha, Donovan. Subs: Mucha, Bilyaletdinov, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Gueye, Vellios, Anichebe.
Week 13's college football action is in the books, so we decided to fire up the Tuesday Tweetbag to tackle the burning topics on your Jonathan Villar Jersey mind this season, from top pro prospects to the best teams in the sport.Feel free to submit your questions to each Monday or early Tuesday morning to get them answered every week. Without further ado, let the smorgasbord of questions commence. is Florida State the most loathed team of the last 20+ years? Since "The U"? Brandon Priddy (@abpriddy) I wouldn't say most loathed team of the last 20 years, but they're up there and closing fast. Obviously you would have to go back a bit further than 20 years (yes, we're all getting old) to reach back far enough to get to those late 1980's/early 1990's Miami Hurricanes teams that featured the likes of Michael Irvin, the Blades brothers, and others that gained plenty of fame for what they did on and off the field. Even with all of the i sues regarding the Seminoles, I don't think they come close to the bar set by "The U" back in the day when the team was making headlines with every action. If we're really talking about the last 20 years, the only program/team I can think of that comes close to FSU is the 2004/2005 USC teams led by none other than . They won big with some star players, but I think a lot of folks resented their "Hollywood" lifestyle that saw Snoop Dogg and Will Ferrell become regulars on the sideline. Add in a ma sive NCAA scandal and controversial finishes (i.e. Bush Push) and you get a very loathed power program that many already disliked for their succe s. There's a reason why their BCS title game matchup with Texas was the most watched in a long time, and the constant "greatest team ever" talk that surfaced in the run-up to the 2006 game at the Rose Bowl probably didn't help people feel sorry for them when the Trojans lost. Two other recent teams that Florida State is competing with for most loathed hail from the SEC: Tim Tebow's Florida squads and any of Nick Saban's Alabama teams that won the national title the past few years. Given all of the i sues with Jameis Winston in particular, I think the Seminoles are a little more loathed than their SEC brethren. As far as most loathed ever, the Noles still need a few more wins and some more off-the- Miami Marlins Jersey field i sues to surface to overtake USC and those Miami teams, though. do you still believe Boise will get the nod over Marshal? BoiseBronco (@MrElson) I do. If the College Football Playoff selection committee didn't reward the Thundering Herd with a top-25 spot after what is likely their best win of the season against Rice, they probably won't after a close call against UAB and a pair of wins over Western Kentucky and (likely) Louisiana Tech. It would be a bummer for a lot of fans to see an undefeated team mi s out on a major bowl, but Marshall's schedule is worse than some FCS teams this year, and the school appears bound for a fate similar to Tulane back in 1998.As for Boise State, the would win the best of the Group of Five leagues according to a number of metrics. A lo s to Ole Mi s in Atlanta in which they were close for three quarters isn't that bad and wins over Colorado State, BYU and Utah State would be way better than anybody else except for the themselves. The are the best of a host of bad options for the Group of Five bid, and I think they would be able to put up a better game against a power team than others. In an ideal world, the committee could pick Colorado State, but since the wouldn't even have won their division, they won't be able to be selected.Expect athletic director Jeremy Foley to conduct a quiet search before announcing a new head coach not long after the Heisman Trophy ceremony. I know Arizona's Rich Rodriguez has reportedly not been a target, but I still maintain he'd be a perfect fit in Gainesville. Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy will continue to draw mentions, but it's starting to sound like it won't be one of the humongous names a few have been throwing Sergio Romo Jersey out. As for Will Muschamp, I can't see him going to South Carolina to take over as defensive coordinator for a number of reasons. While he and Steve Spurrier are close, I doubt the Gamecocks will push aside Lorenzo Ward, and I'm not sure Muschamp himself would view that as an attractive job considering the team largely was responsible for being the nail in the coffin of his tenure. Plus, others are likely to pay him far more. I can see him end up at Auburn or with the coach he shares a beach house with in Jimbo Fisher at Florida State. Don't be surprised if he at least listens to Texas A&M if Kevin Sumlin decides to make a move, too, because the Aggies could pay him the most. Most over-rated G5 and P5 teams this week? Bryan Harsin? (@FakeCoachHarsin) I'll go with Marshall as the most overrated Group of Five squad, but only because it is two spots ahead of Colorado State in the AP Top 25 and I happen to believe the are a better team. When it comes to the Power Five, I'll go with Georgia sitting as the top two-lo s team in the polls ahead of UCLA. Both teams are playing well lately, but I can't get over that beat-down the Bulldogs suffered at the hands of Florida at the beginning of the month. They've built up their resume competing in a weaker SEC East division, too. I still Sandy Alcantara Jersey think Georgia is a good team, just not enough to be ahead of UCLA given what the Bruins have done lately.I will sell that. Thankfully, I believe that realignment at the major levels of college football is over for the current cycle of TV contracts. It would have been great to see a Pac-16 work out, but sadly it's not meant to be in the next decade. How do the 3 CFB playoff games payout to the representative teams / conferences? rdunham98 (@rdunham98) As it looks now, each Power Five conference will take in about $50 million this year from the playoff system itself. There is no bonus for making it to the national championship game like you have on the basketball side with NCAA Tournament units, but a league would see a bonus of $6 million if it gets a team in the final four. For every team selected for a New Year's Six Bowl game outside of the semifinals, a conference would get about $4 million. If you go off the current top four for example, the SEC would draw $12 million from their two teams in the playoff, while the Pac-12 and ACC would get a check for $6 million each. All of the Power Five leagues stand to make even more money when you consider merchandise, contracts with bowl games and more. It's a pretty penny when you're talking about their windfall from the new system and should at least double -- if not triple -- what they got from the BCS.As for the Group of Five for those that are curious, those conferences should split about Trevor Richards Jersey $75 million. The league that gets the Group of Five's spot in a New Year's Six bowl game will wind up with an even bigger payout. talked with Conference USA commi sioner Britton Banowsky and others and estimated the Thundering Herd, for example, is looking at roughly $3 million if they can sneak in.You can follow Bryan Fischer on Twitter at .
How It was always the Jags became Jacksonvilles rallying cry during AFC South-winning season
By sharonorn, 2025-04-20
The Jacksonville Jaguars have become a hidden gem of Matt Magill Jersey sorts in the NFL.To some people, they came from out of nowhere to win the AFC South with a 9-8 record in the final game of the season. However, there was nothing quiet about what the Jaguars did. They won six of their last seven games coming out of the bye week and leveraged that tear into their first playoff berth since 2017.To Jaguars fans, there's nothing surprising about the Jaguars' late-season succe s. That's indicated in their rallying cry this season. "It Donnie Walton Jersey was always the Jags," first uttered by safety Andrew Wingard, has become a motto of sorts for the team's fans. And to those in Duval County the AFC South did, indeed, always belong to Jacksonville. In Trevor Lawrence's second season with the Jaguars and Doug Pederson's first, they've taken a 180 since Lawrence's rookie year. Helped along by free agent signings Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and Evan Engram, Lawrence has truly come into his own with Pederson.MORE: Here's what to know about "it was always the Jags," and why you'll be seeing those signs around TIAA Bank Field Saturday as the Jaguars host the Chargers."It Reggie McClain Jersey was always the Jags" was something impulsively shouted by Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard, who was signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in 2019.After Wingard and the Jaguars defeated the Titans the first time in early December, a clip emerged of Wingard exiting the field and yelling "it was always the Jags" into the camera.Talk that talk, ! | Jacksonville Jaguars (@Jaguars) Since then, it's become an Ben Gamel Jersey unofficially official slogan of the team, appearing on Jaguars merch and after nearly every subsequent win. After the Jaguars beat the Jets two weeks later, Wingard had made a bit of a song out of it in the locker room.Trevor Lawrence has said the same:For the Jaguars, it ultimately comes down to having fun, but this is the energy Wingard in particular has brought to the team. Gerson Bautista Jersey In fact, it doesn't even seem to be a team-wide thing so much as Wingard's personal rallying cry for the team the fans have run with. The veracity of the statement remains to be seen, but the future looks bright for the Jaguars. If anything, they're ahead of schedule with this playoff appearance. Now, they're looking to make the most of it and see what "always" really means.
Oklahoma defensive lineman and wide receiver are high-risk Edwin Diaz Jersey , high-reward prospects in the NFL draft this year, but either one could be a first-round pick, according to NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock. Asked who could be "boom or bust" propositions for NFL clubs, Mayock identified Phillips, the 6-foot-4, 335-pound Sooners giant who has just one full season as a college starter on his resume, and Green-Beckham, who hasn't played since 2013 and spent last year on the practice field at OU under NCAA transfer rules."Back surgery two years ago, only Carlos Gomez Jersey started 16 games in college, but he's a dancing bear, and he'll probably go in the first round," , referring to Phillips. As for Green-Beckham, NFL clubs will have more than a few questions about the disciplinary record -- including an allegation of violence against a female -- that Francisco Lindor Jersey got him ousted at Mi souri. But Mayock suggested the 6-6, 225-pounder has a long way to go to refine his game on the field, as well."I watched every target to him in 2013, and he has no idea what he's doing, but he changes games," Mayock said.Green-Beckham caught 59 pa ses for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore at Mi souri in 2013, but was 10 months ago for his involvement in a burglary investigation Darryl Strawberry Jersey and transferred to OU. He entered the draft as a third-year sophomore.Often it's the most succe sful NFL clubs picking toward the end of the first round who are most willing to take a chance on a player whose raw Tom Seaver Jersey talent might rate very high, but slips due to various concerns. project Phillips as a first-round pick, but none higher than No. 19 overall. By sharonorn, 2025-04-20
When the Broncos travel to face the Seahawks to close Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season on "Monday Night Football" (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN), the spotlight will be Preston Tucker Jersey on Ru sell Wilson returning to face his former team as a starting quarterback for the first time. The former AFC West rivals don't face each other often anymore. While Denver is expected to be an AFC playoff contender with Wilson, Seattle is projected to be one of NFC's worst teams with Geno Smith replacing him. Here's how Sporting News sees the game playing out in what should be an emotional night for Wilson and those who used to play with and coach him in Seattle:LIVE: Spread: Broncos by 6.5Over/under: 44Moneyine:Broncos -115, Seahawks -105The Broncos' favored number has grown a little but the total has stayed pretty low given the Seahawks' offense vs. a tough Broncos defense.(betting odds per Caesars Sportsbook)Broncos vs. Seahawks all-time seriesThe Broncos lead 35-21. They have not faced the Seahawks since 2018. The Broncos Ryan Goins Jersey won that meeting but the Seahawks had won the previous two and three out of five. Most notably, the Seahawks won Super Bowl 48 with Wilson over Peyton Manning's Broncos, 43-8.Three trends to knowAn overwhelming 73 percent of spread bettors like the Broncos to cover on the road at night.55 of total bettors like the under despite the low total, citing little confidence in the Seahawks' offense. The Broncos were 8-8-1 against the spread last season. The Seahawks were 9-8 against the spread in 2021.Three things to watchWilson and his new weaponsWilson played in Seattle for a decade, winning a ton of games Eloy Jimenez Jersey including that Super Bowl. He is used to playing in front of the loud crowd, but this time 'the 6th Man' will be working to try to pump up the Seahawks' defense against him. He will need to settle his nerves and stick with his new offensive system to produce well at first with a new group of receivers, led by Courtland Sutton.DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett without WilsonWhile Sutton and Jerry Jeudy will benefit as the Broncos' wideouts, Metcalf, the speedy and big outside No. 1, and Lockett, the venerable quick slot man, will need to spark the Seahawks' offense despite Smith not having the same big arm as Wilson. They will face a tough Broncos secondary featuring young star Pat Surtain II and safety Justin Simmons.Pete Carroll vs. WilsonWill Carroll, even with a defense short on talent, figure out a scheme that exploit his knowledge of Wilson's pa sing and running tendencies to keep his former on-field leader in check? You can bet the emotions also will be flowing for Wilson's only pro head coach before 2021. Carroll will need all Carlton Fisk Jersey of rah-rah motivational ability for the Seahawks to pull a stunning upset.Stat that matters7.8 vs. 6.9. That's Wilson's career yards per pa s attempt vs. Smith's career yards per pa s attempt. That's a significant difference as the Broncos get a bump in Ron Santo Jersey the downfield pa sing game while the Seahawks take a big hit.Wilson also will be helped by the strong running of Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon to set up deep shots off play-action that he loves. Smith's support may be suspect with a banged-up Rashaad Penny behind a le ser offensive line. It's just not Wilson vs. the Seahawks' pa s defense. The Broncos have the potential to dominate this game in every which way pa sing from Wilson, running with Williams and Gordon and their own defense. Wilson's experience in hostile Seattle will help calm his teammates down for a comfortable victory.Broncos 27, Seahawks 10

Jose Altuve Jersey It landed on him.'"How did the Raiders decide between drafting Terrion Arnold and Brock Bowers?A coin flip. The Next Round (@NextRoundLive) It's likely whoever Arnold spoke to was speaking in a figurative manner. That's not to say Bowers was a bad pick, but Arnold was the better choice for what the Raiders needed more.
