Elden Ring is home to a vast arsenal of weapons, each offering unique skills, scaling, and combat dynamics. For players looking to trade or purchase weapons, understanding their relative value in the community is essential. Based on my extensive experience exploring the Lands Between, engaging with co-op and PvP, and participating in the Elden Ring item buying marketplace , I’ve created a 7-rank tier list to help you navigate the most sought-after Elden Ring items —specifically weapons—when trading.

This list reflects the popularity, usability, PvE/PvP performance, and trade value within the community. Whether you're a first-time Tarnished or a seasoned warrior, this guide will help you understand what weapons are truly worth in trades.

S-Tier: Meta-Defining Weapons (Best Trade Value)

These weapons are always in high demand and often used in both PvP and PvE. They have excellent scaling, unique weapon arts, and are frequently requested in trading communities.

  • Rivers of Blood – A katana with insane bleed buildup and a spammable weapon art. It's arguably the most traded weapon in the Elden Ring item buying marketplace .

  • Moonveil – Another katana that excels in Intelligence-based builds. Its Transient Moonlight skill makes it deadly in duels.

  • Blasphemous Blade – Offers powerful healing on kill and is ideal for Faith/Strength hybrid builds. Always a favorite in PvE-focused trades.

My experience: I’ve traded Rivers of Blood multiple times across different characters, and every time, it fetched top-tier gear or multiple upgrade materials in return.

A-Tier: Strong, Reliable, High-Interest Weapons

These weapons aren't quite meta-breaking but are still in demand due to solid performance and versatility.

  • Dark Moon Greatsword – Loved by Intelligence builds, especially in later game stages.

  • Ghiza’s Wheel – A unique Strength weapon that’s both fun and terrifying in PvP.

  • Nagakiba – Popular for its long reach and bleed synergy, often requested in trade circles.

B-Tier: Niche But Valuable

These weapons have niche uses or are popular in certain builds. They don’t always fetch top-tier trades but are regularly sought after.

  • Eclipse Shotel – Useful in Faith builds and for bypassing shields.

  • Wing of Astel – Great for magic-focused dexterity builds with a unique heavy attack.

  • Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword – Effective in Strength/Faith builds, especially in lava-based themes.

In trading groups, these items usually come up in more specialized requests—perfect for players looking to complete specific builds.

C-Tier: Moderate Interest, Build-Specific

Often overlooked, these weapons are useful for specific playstyles but don’t see frequent trade activity.

  • Serpentbone Blade – A poison katana with cool aesthetics but limited effectiveness.

  • Golden Order Greatsword – Good for mixed Faith/Strength builds but overshadowed by Blasphemous Blade.

  • Reduvia – Early-game dagger with bleed, popular for new characters but not much value late-game.

D-Tier: Low Trade Value

These weapons are often outclassed and usually only traded by collectors or beginners.

  • Crystal Sword

  • Great Epee

  • Clayman’s Harpoon

I’ve rarely received meaningful offers when listing these in the Elden Ring item buying marketplace , though some collectors still want them.

E-Tier: Outclassed or Obsolete

Weapons in this tier are typically traded for novelty or roleplay purposes.

  • Torchpole

  • Noble’s Slender Sword

  • Spiked Mace

F-Tier: Collector’s Only

These are purely collector’s items with little to no trade value in terms of combat performance.

  • Weathered Straight Sword

  • Broken Straight Sword

  • Forked Hatchet

Trading weapons in Elden Ring can be a rewarding experience, especially when you understand the dynamics of the Elden Ring item buying marketplace . From my perspective, some of the most satisfying trades came not from getting the rarest gear, but from helping a player complete their dream build. Whether you're after bleed builds, magic-based gear, or Strength powerhouses, knowing where each weapon ranks can make your trading journey smoother.
