Should BO3 Maps Be Adapted for BO6’s Movement System?

With bo6 bot lobbies for Sale confirming Firing Range’s return, speculation has spiked over BO3 maps making a comeback. I’m a huge fan of Fringe and Stronghold , but one big concern is how these maps—originally designed for jetpacks and wall-running—will play under BO6’s boots-on-the-ground system.

Fringe, for instance, has wall-run lanes that let players flank or ambush. Without verticality, will those paths become chokepoints or useless dead zones? Developers would need to reimagine navigation routes while retaining each map’s identity. And that’s not easy. Think of how BO4 tried to adapt maps and received mixed reviews.

The solution might be in smart reworks—convert wall-run paths into catwalks, deployable ladders, or elevated bridges. But even with changes, movement flow might feel unnatural. Still, it would be a worthy challenge. These maps are beloved for a reason: pacing, flow, and aesthetic.

It’s worth testing them out in a special playlist or as LTM (limited-time mode) maps. Let the community provide feedback. I’d love to see Combine come back too, but I’m cautious. The mid-lane in Combine was clearly designed with vertical mechanics in mind—would it even work?

I think Treyarch could use community polls to prioritize which BO3 maps deserve a shot. Adaptation is key here—not everything needs to return just for nostalgia. Some maps should stay in the era they were made for.

What do you all think? Are we just chasing memories, or is there potential for true innovation with a reimagined BO3 map lineup in BO6?
